WAFF and BSWW Organise Beach Soccer Workshop

The West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) and Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW) will be organizing a workshop for Beach Soccer referees on 28 February and 1 March 2022.

The lecturers of the workshop, which will be held via video conference, are FIFA Instructors Michelle Conte and Ibrahim Al Mansouri, and WAFF has invited all member associations to name their representative participants.

The General Secretary of WAFF, Khalil Al Salem, revealed that the workshop comes as an implementation of the joint cooperation agreement between WAFF and the BSWW, which extends to three years, and is primarily aimed at expanding the base of the sport in the region.

It will also provide competitive platforms and development programs, as well as offer knowledge and support for member associations.

The President of BSWW, Joan Cusco, confirmed that the workshop will be held in the context of the organization’s eagerness to contribute to the development of the game in the region, by harnessing its expertise in this area and working to widen prospects ahead of the teams and clubs.

This will no doubt benefit and improve the status of the national teams and clubs, as well as developing their global reach and administrative capacities.

The referees’ workshop is a continuation of a series of activities and training courses that WAFF and BSWW intend to hold, including a previous coaches workshop that was held in August 2021.

Aside from this, there will be another workshop, concerning beach soccer match organisation, that will be held during the 2nd WAFF Beach Soccer Championship that is scheduled to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from 15 to 21 May 2022.
