4 victories and 1 draw in the inaugural day U-23 Championship

The victory appeared in four out of five matches in the opening day of the second WAFF Under-23 Championship, which is hosted by the Saudi Federation in Dammam and Al Khobar from 4 to 12 October 2021.

In the first group, the Omani team managed to beat its Jordanian counterpart with a single goal, signed by its player Issa Al-Naabi in the 42nd minute, in the match that was held at Prince Saud bin Jalawi Stadium in Al Khobar.

On the other hand, in the same group and on the same stadium, the Yemeni and Kuwaiti teams tied 1-1. Eid Al-Rashidi opened the scoring for Kuwait at the 42nd minute, while Omar Al-Dahi equalized for the Yemeni team at the 52nd minute.

In the second group, the UAE team defeated the Lebanese team with three goals nul, scored by Saeed Al Kaabi (32’), Abdullah Al-Naqbi (34’) and Ahmed Abdullah (78’) in a match hosted by Prince Muhammad bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam.

In a match on the same stadium and in the same group, the Iraqi team defeated its Palestinian counterpart with a lone goal scored by Hassan Jabbar in the 81st minute.

In his turn, the Syrian team came out with a precious victory at the expense of its Bahraini counterpart 4-1, in a meeting within the third group cards, which was held at Prince Muhammad bin Fahd Stadium.

The scorers for Syria were Yusuf Muhammad (7’), Ahmed Al-Khasei (29’), Muhammad Al-Hallaq (79’) and Amin Aqil (90+4’) while Abdullah Al-Hayiki (67’) scored Bahrain’s only goal.

In addition, the teams will rest on October 5, and five matches will be played the next day, 3 of which will be at Prince Saud bin Jalawi Stadium: Oman and Yemen at 3.30 pm, Kuwait and Jordan at 6.30 pm, Iraq and the Emirates At 9.30 pm, while Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Stadium will host the matches of Syria and Saudi Arabia at 5.45 pm, Lebanon and Palestine at 8.45 pm, then the teams will rest the next day.
