Amman: Palestine opened their 2014 West Asian Football Federation Women’s Championship campaign with a 4-0 win over Qatar at the Petra Stadium in Jordan on Tuesday.

Skipper Klodi Salama scored a triple to help the Palestinians clinch the second spot on the four-team competition’s opening day which also saw hosts Jordan go to top spot after downing Bahrain 5-0.

Salama gave Palestine the lead as she scored on 20 minutes before the match went into the break and scored her second just two minutes after the restart.

Another midfielder, Haneen J. A. Nasser, found the team’s third goal after 56 minutes, and not content with the 3-0 lead, Salama netted her third goal nine minutes later to take the game away from the Qataris’ reach.
